YAGULL - FILMS

New York City's Yagull actually is a one man project. Sasha Markovic plays the guitars and the bass, and takes care of the percussion, the occasional voice and the keyboards. Sasha also engineered, arranged and produced the record.
Guests (or cast of charactars as they're called) added flute, cello, sax and drums.

The music on "Films" is quite different from what one would expect from the Moonjune Records label. As the title suggests, "Films" takes a cinematic approach. It's instrumental and it has the emphasis on the acoustic setting which makes it sound very elimentary end restful.

Yagull made a fine album. "Films" is a daring quest for simplicity. Melancholic and sweet at the same time, the album reminds me of some early seventies prog folk stuff.
Nice.
