THE SOULJAZZ ORCHESTRA - RISING SUN

The Souljazz Orchestra got founded in Ottawa, Canada, in 2002. The band fuses jazz with Nigerian percussion and african and latin rhythms into the so-called Afrobeat.
They have released two albums on the Toronto-based Do Right! label, and now there's the brand-new "Rising Sun" on London-based Strut Records.

There are moments that "Rising Sun" leans towards ethnic jazz and it's obvious that the band has listened a lot to Sun Ra and to Pharoah Sanders.
I like it. I like it a lot.

"Rising Sun" is a feel-good album. A bit too clean or too clinical at times, but a great listen.
Laid-back. Warm. Feel-good.

Check it out!
The below clip is track number four of the album. Give it a go.
